My name is Jim Mandl. I am the Work-Based Learning Coordinator for Warren Consolidated Schools. I have been working at CPC since August of 2003. For my first 15 years at CPC, I was the Pre-Engineering and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) instructor. I am a two-time graduate of Central Michigan University. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with concentration in Automotive Design and a Master of the Art of Teaching Degree. I hold an Occupational Education Certificate for Drafting and Design Technology and a Professional Education Certificate for Industrial Technology (K-12) and Vocational Technology (6-12).

I have eight years of experience working as a Designer/Design Engineer, with the bulk of that time spent as a contract employee for General Motors. I also worked for Lear Corporation and Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems.

I married the love of my life, Dawn, in September of 2015. We have three fury children – Emmet, Lydia, and Brady. Dawn is a certified animal behaviorist/dog trainer and we spend time volunteering for various pet adoption events. I am also part owner of an antique shop in Detroit. I spend a lot of my free time “picking” – looking for vintage and antique items to add to my collection and/or for repurposing and reselling.
